A short guide to city fashion

In a word, Barcelona is vibrant. It's hard to imagine a dull day in such a stunning, colourful city like this. Detailed patterns surround you, the work of Gaudi, quirky architecture and sunny days on the beach. Dress colourful and be expressive!

The city of love is not so loving on your feet, first and foremost, be sure to wear kind shoes that will feel comfortable on those rigid cobbled streets. I like the idea of playing on old stereotypes when it comes to fashion, this striped shirt is reminiscent of an old French mime artist, covered in elegant flowers, like a painting from the Lourve. Of course you have to use this opportunity to mix in that classic Parisian rouge!

I find you can experiment more in London than in most cities! I've chosen this ensemble because it is reminiscent of Vivienne Westwood, and the punk subculture movement of the 80's. A studded clutch to keep your oyster card safe and Heavy boots to keep out the rain. I love Autumns in London!

Winters in New York are as tough as the concrete towers that cover the land, take thermals, thick socks, hats and scarfs, etc. The last time I was in NYC I wore a trench coat and a dress, it was -8... It was almost too much to bear and I had to layer up for the rest of the trip! Pack with caution!

Ok Ladies, I hope you liked it, have fun exploring and experimenting!

8 ways to attract positive energy

The message I am intending to spread is that YOU can thrive from pain and trauma and be enlightened by the power of gratitude. I've been at the 'bottom' and I'm working my way back up! Here are some things I'm slowly learning in life and I suppose I just wanted to share and maybe inspire somebody. I'm optimistic, but like everybody I have slip ups!

MEDITATE
I don't mean sit crossed legged on the floor, chanting. (Although if that works for you, great!) Personally I believe that meditation is about releasing and absorbing energy, communication with what you would call God, whatever that means to you. Take a walk, reminisce on good times, write a poem, etc.

FORGIVE PEOPLE
It is easy to become cynical when you see so much bad in people, sometimes it seems that nobody has your best interests at heart. Needless to say, nobody is perfect. We keep making mistakes over and over, and maybe we'll never get it right, but it's all part of the human experience. Most of everything that is negative begins with a fear of others. I want to give you an example.

A political party manipulates the masses using the media to spread fear, demonises an entire class of people. Why? Because 'the elite' are terrified that someone will take away their luxury yachts and million pound bonuses. They can only get away with taking from the system and not contributing when we do not stand together and tell them NO. So they work hard to separate us, putting us into social classes, ethnical groups, etc.

You've probably noticed that there's this crazy idea that ridiculing someone who's content is cool and makes you look strong. When in actual fact it just makes you look incredibly weak and silly, so don't do it!

YOU ARE TINY
You are so small and insignificant, take comfort in that! You don't have to the best, the most attractive, the most intelligent, you just have to be you and that is the best you can ever hope to be! If you can be you and be lovely and strong, well that's just a bonus!

SUPPORT LIFE
This can be anything from housing a pet to gardening. They were put on this earth for us to enjoy and look after, for more than what we can physically see and touch, their energies can comfort us greatly.

BE CREATIVE
Paint, draw, sing, dance, design, play instruments, have ideas, share ideas, ponder.

LISTEN TO INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
Rather than music with lyrics, listen to classical, cinematic, native American, Indian, the list goes on and on there's a lot to explore. I guess it's kind of like the difference between reading a book and watching a movie based on the book in that you are told how to feel! Music without lyrics can have a positive influence on your mood, it is easy to take in and requires no real attention.

LOVE
Be compassionate, aim to bring out the best in people, forgive them when they are mean, remember that they are only that way because they are afraid. Have time for peoples quirks, don't just cast them out because they're different, or you think they're lower than you, or even if you think they're better than you. It's also worth noting that you should never take abuse off people either.

USE THE INTERNET FOR GOOD
Use it to educate yourself, be inspired by others and inspire others. Pass on good thoughts and messages, create beautiful, fun things. Be silly. Spread nice messages on social networking sites and spread the positivity. Try hard not to share negative feelings too much or nasty messages!

There we go, there's my advice and some guidelines I'm trying to live by, thank you for reading I hope you have enjoyed this post!

5 weight loss tips!

If you're trying to lose weight, here's some things I've found from my weight loss journey so far. And in case you were wondering, I've dropped just over two stone in two months. I will add some pictures next May/June because hopefully you will see a big difference in my before and after pictures! Ok, here we go!

1) Realise that this isn't just a change you'll be making for a few weeks/months, this is a lifestyle change! Rewire your thinking, stick to eating only natural sugars, eventually any other sugar will taste like plastic!

2) The biggest weight loss secret is no secret at all, we just ignore it because we want the easy way out! It's simple, eat more fruit and vegetables, less of the other crap. Do stuff, be on your feet more, take up a hobby that means you need to walk more, never underestimate walking as an exercise

3) Eat less
On the internet people love to glorify greed, you see these posts 'real Women have curves', 'real Men like meat'.. Are you serious internet! Promoting this careless attitude towards healthy eating is detrimental to all. The truth is we're all real people and we should stop letting these silly people tell us how to think, just be whatever size is your healthiest.

4) Consider taking up an exercise you will stick to
Joining the gym is great, and I recommend you do it, it’s helped me for sure. However, for a faster weight loss you may want to consider taking up an exercising hobby that’s more accessible. For example, cycling. Cycling changed my life in MANY positive ways, however that’s another post for another time!

5) Visualize
Meditating before you sleep is a great way of shutting down, and reflecting on the day in a calm and relaxing way, instead of letting those thoughts race through your head when it’s time to sleep. I recommend everyone take this time to be silent, no phone, no internet. Just spend some time with yourself, in this time you can think about yourself at your goal weight. How light you will feel and how strong you will be.

6) Be enthusiastic
This change is good, it might just be the best thing you’ll ever do for your health, so be enthusiastic. It’s not easy for the first few days but it gets better and better!

7) Take it slow
Anything that makes you drop weight fast is bad for you, which brings me back to my original point, all these fad diets don’t work, because once they’re over what’s going to happen then? You haven’t trained yourself to eat less, and you’ll just put it all back on. So again, this is a lifestyle change, a diet is for life not just for Christmas, and all that jazz.

Hope this helped you guys, good luck!
